Pokemon Scarlet and Violethave only had two trailers released so far. The firstPokemon Scarlet and Violettrailer showcased the starter Pokemon, while the second trailer gave fans their first look at the box art legendaries. No other legendary Pokemon have been revealed forPokemon Scarlet and Violetbeyond the box art legendaries, but one fan has an interesting theory about another legendary that could potentially be featured in the game.

ThePokemon Scarlet and Violetlegendaries areKoraidon and Miraidon, with Koraidon featured onPokemon Scarlet’s box and Miraidon gracing the cover ofPokemon Violet. It was pointed out by Reddit user LilGhostSoru that the “Korai” and “Mirai” can roughly equate to “past” and “future,” respectively. Based on this information, they predict that the thirdPokemon Scarlet and Violetlegendary will be called Genzaidon, with “genzai” meaning “present.”

This would go with the “time” theme of thePokemon Scarlet and Violetgames. Koraidon and Miraidon embrace “past” and “future” themes beyond just their names, as Koraidon looks like a prehistoric dinosaur, whereas Miraidon has sci-fi elements to its design. These themes are further highlighted by the professors in each game. InPokemon Violet, Professor Sada has tribal gear on, whereasProfessor Turo inPokemon Scarlethas futuristic clothing. It would make sense for the inevitable third legendary to keep with the “time” theme that the games are going with, though it’s difficult to see how it would be able to embody the “present” in the same way that Koraidon and Miraidon embody the past and future.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violetfans will have to wait for more information to see if there’s anything to this theory, though it’s unclear when more info may come. There are rumors that a newPokemon Scarlet and Violettrailer could be dropping in the relatively near future, but nothing official has been announced by Nintendo. And even if there is a newPokemon Scarlet and Violettrailer, there’s no guarantee that it will reveal the game’sthird legendary Pokemon.
