APokemon Scarlet and Violetplayer has created their own set of high-quality animated sprites featuring one of the new fan-favorite fire starters, Fuecoco, and its two evolved forms in the sprite style seen in the Generation 5 titles. While the mainlinePokemongames themselves evolved to use fully animated 3D models when Generation 6 released nearly a decade ago,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetfans continue to pay tribute to the series' original art styles to this day.
The latestPokemontitles continue to develop the potential for gameplay in the series, withScarlet and Violetfurthering many of the open world aspectswhich were first seen inPokemon Legends: Arceusearlier in the year. The new games have also dropped a massive number of never-before-seen Pokemon in the diverse world ofPokemon, introducing a total of 107 new species of Pokemon, including the brand-new starters. Continuing the starter typing that has persisted sincePokemon Red and Bluecame out in 96', the Grass-type Sprigatito, Fire-type Fuecoco, and Water-type Quaxly have each become the new favorites for many Trainers across the world, both new and old. Their powerful evolutions have also impressed many players, much to the relief of some who weren’t so happy with the starters seen inPokemon Sword and Shield.

A post on Reddit from the user R3dd1t_D4v1d shares the fan-created sprites with the rest of thePokemoncommunity. These impressive sprites are fully animated and crafted to perfection by the hands of the dedicated fan, and have been designed to take inspiration from the popular art style used in the sprites throughoutPokemon Black and Whiteand their sequels. The lively pixel art depicts three separate Pokemon, from the adorable Fuecoco, to it’s second evolutionary stage, Crocalor, and lastly, it’s powerful final form, Skeledirge. Fuecoco’s endearingly gormless personality is what made itan instant favorite for many players ofScarlet and Violet, offering an easy choice for a starter which no Trainer could regret befriending.
Thenew starters seem to be significantly more popular amongPokemonfanswhen compared to their predecessors in the Generation 8 games, especially. Players have been able to enjoy a new and refreshing type ofPokemonadventure around the Spanish-themed Paldea region, embarking on a journey across the open region to meet many other new Pokemon and strengthen their bonds with their new partners.
WhilePokemon Scarlet and Violethave hardly been free from criticism, with the games recently receiving thelowest score of any mainlinePokemontitles on Metacriticdue to the excess of annoying glitches and performance issues, some fans have nonetheless been having a surprisingly good time with the new games. Though the community has made their complaints very clear to The Pokemon Company, some players have even gone as far as to dubScarlet and Violetas their new favoritePokemongames, despite their issues.
