A Redditor recently caught a detail in the originalRed Dead Redemptionfor the PS3 and Xbox 360 that had mostly gone unnoticed until now. The illustrious Dutch Van Der Linde was played by actor Benjamin Byron Davis, but apparently that wasn’t the only character he played.

The firstRed Dead Redemptionand its sequel,Red Dead Redemption 2are two of the most critically acclaimed games of all time, holding a 95 and a 97 respectively on Metacritic along with a litany of awards. That is due to many things, likeRockstar’s incredible attention to detail, game design, and storytelling.

One of the strongest actors to bring that story to life in both games is Benjamin Byron Davis. Dutch Van Der Linde is an incredibly charismatic leader with a magnetic personality that no one can resist. The writing is strong, but Dutch would not be anywhere near the incredibly fascinating character that he is without Benjamin Byron Davis.

With such a massive role as Dutch, one would think that Davis would have had no more time or even been allowed by Rockstar to play another character. But he did. As Redditor wd0675 points out, Benjamin Byron Davis also played Nastas the Native American informant who tries to help John capture Dutch in 2010’sRed Dead Redemption.

Nastas is not an insignificant role either, and funnily one that directly opposes Dutch story-wise, so this is another one ofmany fun Easter eggs for fans. Davis also had small pedestrian roles inGrand Theft Auto: San Andreasand played a minor character the player interrogates inL.A. Noire.

Red Dead Redemption 2is nearly two years old now, but fans are discovering more in the massive game. The game is absolutely chock-full of mysteries and details that are still being discovered. The game is even still being updated by Rockstar both in patches and continuous updates to its multiplayer component, like therecently added Moonshiner role.

Fans refuse to let the singleplayer story of Red Dead Redemption end, however. A remake for the firstRed Dead Redemption, where Dutch van der Linde and Nastas first appeared, continues to be in incredibly high demand. Fans have also recently started a petition to demandstory-based DLC forRed Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
