The new update 1.1 forRedfallis out right now, and it’s set to fix several problems with the game, but it also comes with a huge installation size of 32 GB on Steam. Players who want to test the title again and see if it has improved sinceRedfall’s disappointing launchcan already dive in, as long as they have enough space in their hard drives to download the update.

Redfallwas perhaps the biggest disappointment of 2023 so far. Arkane Studios is known for excellent games such as theDishonoredfranchise, and it also achieved success with other new IPs likePreyandDeathloop. Despite rumors of development troubles and the early previews not being too generous onRedfall, many fans were eagerly expecting to be surprised. They were, but not in a good way, asRedfallbecame one of the lowest-rated Steam gamesof all time. The game was released with bugs, abysmal enemy AI, and fairly poor graphics. Now, however, it seems that the situation may be about to start changing.

Redfall’s update 1.1 was just released, and it’s set to overhaul several problems with the title. It’s a big patch, so players can expect a lot to change. According to Arkane, this is just the first of many patches that the game will receive, and it was specifically built to address the most constant complaints made by gamers, such as the lack of AI responsiveness in enemies, low enemy encounter frequency, and issues with graphical fidelity. Some of the changes include a few tweaks to combat, improved pathfinding for enemies, as well as more responsive animation and navigation, refinements in textures and the game’s performance, and general improvements in the menu navigation.

With the new patch, hopefully,Redfallwill improve. At the moment, there aremore people playingForspokenthan Redfallon Steam, for instance, despite being an older game that was also considered a flop, which speaks to how much players are unhappy with the current state of Arkane’s new vampire game.

Apart from working on updates forRedfall,Arkane is currently developing a new unnamed title. A good bet, however, is that it won’t look likeRedfallat all, going back to Arkane’s immersive sim’s roots.
