Earlier this year, numerous sources made the claim that Capcom was developing aResident Evil 4remake. However, with a planned release date of 2022, no official information on the title is expected to come for some time. But while Capcom isn’t expected to reveal anything about theResident Evil 4remake for at least another year or longer, a frequentResident Evilfranchise leaker has alluded to the game having some kind of development trouble.

AestheticGamer, also known as Dusk Golem, is known for their accurateResident Evilfranchise leaks. On August 28, they tweeted out a number of claims about the game industry, stating thatResident Evil 8will “most likely be great,” that theSilent HillPS5 project is still in the works, somethingShenmuewill be announced within the next couple of weeks, there will be a PS5 event in the first half of September, and that aMonster Huntergame is coming to the Switch. However, AestheticGamer also said that “RE4is in a bit of a worrying position right now.”

As one might expect, this comment drummed up some interest fromResident Evilfans who are curious about why theResident Evil 4remakeis supposedly in a “worrying position.” However, AestheticGamer declined to elaborate further, instead stating that the focus should be onResident Evil 8right now and that theRE4remake leaked too early.

Beyond it being in development, there isn’t really much else known aboutResident Evil 4remake, so it’s hard to really guess what AestheticGamer is referring to. The only other tidbit has been the suggestion that theResident Evil 4remake will ditch tank controlsin favor of a more modern control scheme, which is a decision that will likely please some fans and upset those who areRE4purists.

Unless AestheticGamer or another leaker decides to share more information on theResident Evil 4remake, it’s unlikely that fans will hear much more about the game for quite some time. However, there should be some newResident Evil 8information revealed sooner rather than later, as it was previously reported that Capcom planned on sharing more news on the game at some point soon. Maybe it will even take place at the rumored PS5 September event;RE8was originally revealed during the PS5 games showcase eventback in June, after all.

Besides video games, there’s even more forResident Evilfans to look forward to within the next couple of years. Netflix has confirmed that aResident EvilTV seriesis in production at the streaming service giant, with the show apparently following the story of antagonist Albert Wesker’s children.

TheResident Evil 4remake is rumored to be in development for unspecified platforms.
