Within the last several years especially,Resident Evilhas had quite a lot of irons in the fire. Following the release ofResident Evil 7, numerous additional pieces ofResident Evilcontent began to release, such the remasters of the older titles, the various Netflix projects currently in the works, and the reboot of theResident Evilmovie series. Now, fans have begun to discover evidence of the reboot movie being filmed.
Other than the ongoinglawsuit between an injured stuntwoman and theResident Evilmovie producers, not much by way of official news regarding the production of the newly rebootedResident Evilmovie has surfaced. Although, thanks to the diligence and perception of some eager fans, they’ve managed to capture images of what appears to be an iconic location fromResident Evil 2.

New photos posted on Twitter from various users reveal that the production set is very similar to the Racoon City Police Department building, the primary location that the majority ofResident Evil 2takes place in. If these assumptions are to be believed, then it seems that this new movie could be taking things in a whole other direction.
It was reported back in August of last year thatthis new movie would take things back toResident Evil’s roots, but now it definitely seems that those were not empty words. With R.P.D. building in play, it seems like this movie will definitely be following the story presented in the game series more closely.
It was reported that the movie would contain all of the main protagonists in tandem with each other, following the officialcast reveal of theResident Evilmovie reboot. This could mean that the stories of Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Albert Wesker may be occurring at the exact same time as Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield’s story.
Thus, this reboot will encompass the events of at least the first twoResident Evilgames, which is quite a lot of story to cover in the span of a typical movie. Then again, there still isn’t too much concrete information to really see where the story will go. With no official release date confirmed and a severe lack of feedback from anyone involved in the movie, it’s somewhat hard to know what to expect from this film. For now, fans will just have to wait to find out more news. Hopefully, a trailer will help to explain what’s actually going on in this film.
