In theResident Evil 4remake, Ashley’s armor is an extra costume rewarded for beating the “A Rank Investigator” challenge. The suit is a metal armor resembling the medieval knights, protecting Ashley against all types of damage—including Leon’s shots.

Although Ashley suggests that Leon wear the armor in the Castle, it’s actually her that wears one in the NG+. Armored Ashley is invulnerable, surviving all enemy attacks even when Leon is not around. But not all players get to have this valuable costume because it’s a challenge-exclusive item. To unlock it,RE4players must follow this guide’s instructions and beat the game with specific conditions met.

How Ashley’s Armor Affects the Gameplay

The way Ashley’s armor works is that it protects her from all attacks. But it also makes her too heavy for Ganados and Zealots; they can’t kidnap the armored Ashley. The costume changes some of theinteractions between Leon and Ashley, too, as he can now leave her behind without worrying.

Of course, there are rare occasions, like in the Courtyard Maze mission, where armored Ashley can die. But she’s mostly immune to any strike or projectile, even those coming from bosses.
