Bloodborne, From Software’s Lovecraftian successor to theDark Soulsseries, is a PlayStation 4 exclusive, but it could now be coming to PC, according to a new leak. Most of From Software’s other games are already available on PC, and it looks likeBloodbornewill be getting all the benefits that typically come with a PC port.
The entireDark Soulstrilogy and From Software’s newest game,Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, are already available on PC. The only two recent From Software games that have yet to receive ports outside of their initial release are the originalDemon’s SoulsandBloodborne.Demon’s Soulsis a PlayStation 3 exclusive, and porting that game to other platforms is likely a daunting task considering it was probably designed around the system’s unique architecture, butBloodbornecould very easily be brought to PC just like many other PlayStation exclusives.Bloodborneunfortunately never received an update to enable PlayStation 4 Pro support like most other PlayStation exclusives, but a PC version of the game would allow it to look even better than ita lready does.

The leak comes from an unnamed insider who shared information about aBloodbornePC port in a private group. The leaker claims to have sources in the industry that they have known for years, and they fully trust them when it comes to this potential port. According to the leaker,Bloodborneis currently in development for PC. Even though the game is reportedly in active development, the leaker claims it could take anywhere from 10 months to a year to be officially announced. The leaker also says more PlayStation games will make their way to PC, stating thatHorizon Zero Dawnwill not be the last Sony game to come to the platform.
Some fans were not happy aboutHorizon Zero Dawncoming to PC, but more PlayStation exclusive titles could be coming to PC according to this leak. BothHorizonandDeath Strandingare launching on PC this summer, andBloodbornemakes sense as the next PlayStation PC port considering From Software’s other games are on PC. The leaker implies that a large number of Sony games will come to PC sometime in the future, so more news could emerge in the months leading up to the release of the PlayStation 5.
ABloodbornePC port would allow the game to reach an entirely new audience, and it would also open up many new possibilities for the game. High framerates and resolutions are one thing, but From Software’s games have very active modding communities on PC. A PC version ofBloodbornewould likely receive a huge injection of new user-created content and mods, breathing new life into a game that came out over five years ago. Still,aBloodbornesequelwouldn’t hurt, either.
