Sea of Thieveshas been preparing for the launch of the newShrouded Islandsadventure that will be a narrative-driven event for players. The event has been promoted in the form of acinematic trailer forShrouded Islandsand another trailer released earlier this week, before it officially launched in the game.
Earlier today, a new trailer forSea of Thievesannounced thatShrouded Islandsis now live in the game. Anyone who owns the game or has Xbox Game Pass will be able to enjoy the new content. The trailer itself isn’t too long, but it showed enough of the gameplay to promote the new adventure.

A recent post by Rare’s Creative Director, Mike Chapman, provided more details about the game and what players can look forward to.Shrouded Islandswill kick off a new story for players to experience inSea of Thievesas they fight through the mysterious mist covering the Golden Sands Outpost.Shrouded Islandswill have a series of limited-time, story-driven events starting February 17 and lasting until March 3.
InSea of Thieves Shrouded Islands, players will uncover the secrets of the mysterious mist covering the Golden Sands Outpost as it continues to spread, along with investigating the disappearance of Captain Flameheart and sightings ofthe mysterious Belle. Players who want to startShrouded Islandswill need to report to the character Larinna, leader of the Bilge Rats, to do so. Players who need a quick refresher on the lore ofSea of Thievescan use the story primers before each “Adventure” posted on the game’s website to get back up to speed.
According to the post, the release ofShrouded Islandsis part of Rare’s push to makeSea of Thievesa “more dynamic place to explore” with the new “Adventures.” However, Adventures likeShrouded Islandswill not be replacing the regular, free content updates released for the game. Instead, the newAdventures inSea of Thieveswill come out alongside the updates, with a new Adventure coming out roughly every month, with each lasting at least two weeks.
Every Adventure will offer new secrets for players to discover, new battles for them to face, and new rewards to earn in the game. According to the post, each Adventure will also come with its own introductory cinematic trailer, mainly to establish the stakes and prepare players for what comes next.
