A new mod forSkyrimwas recently released which allows magic users to attack enemies with much more violent end results. Given that it’s likely going to be a fewyears beforeThe Elder Scrolls 6is released, the modding community has been busy putting out all sorts of custom content that can improve or switch up the experience of Bethesda’s 2011 epic RPG. If that means making the game gorier, then so be it.
Modders do like to mess around withSkyrim’s magic system, such as a recent add-on that lets players utilize Blood Magic, allowing them to use HP to attack instead of their mana, or magicka as it’s known inTES. It’s a powerful system that can turn the Dragonborn into a fearful sorcerer, laying waste to any that stand before them without the need to keep a blade sharp or have a plentiful supply of arrows.

That’s where this mod really kicks things up a notch on the violence-o-meter. As spotted by PCGamesN, “Maximum Destruction” is a fan-made modification forSkyrimthat is for those players who really want to cause a lot of damage with magic. The creator, a user called D-Won, says it implements more gore into the game by affording players the opportunity to shatter their opponents into ice chunks or burn them until they’re nothing but cinders. There’s even an option to poison people, which will result in them puking and “showing signs of a poisonous death.” The mod also gives such gory abilities to enchanted weapons as well.
For those who wish to grow in such abilities, the vanilla game hasone of the most iconic schools in gaming, the College of Winterhold, situated in the coldest regions ofSkyrim. Here, players can get to grips with some of the schools of magic, such as Destruction and Conjuration, turning themselves into a powerful wielder of magic if they so choose.
As for the RPG in general,Skyrimis already a pretty violent gameas it is. Anyone who’s played it will have experienced “killcams” on more than one occasion, where the Dragonborn will finish off an enemy with a powerful thrust of their sword straight into the abdomen. It’s for this reason, as well as its depiction of alcohol consumption and sexual themes, that the game was given an ESRB rating of Mature17+, and D-Won’s mod only seems to add to that, which is great for those who like their jaunts through Tamriel to be especially gory.
