A Reddit user named Zerotopman has shared an image of a strange inheritance letter they received while playingThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. The letter is addressed to the user’s name Ragnar, yet it also makes note of Ragnar’s death, resulting in Zerotopman thinking they received an inheritance due to their own character’s death. As per the letter, Zerotopman received an inheritance of 100 gold, out of which 10 gold pieces were taken by the Jarl’s court as tax. The remaining amount was given toa trustedSkyrimcourierfor its timely delivery.
This confusion prompted the user to ask other fans for a possible explanation. One player mentions that there might be different character named Ragnar in the game, and another user found that out there is a Nord miner called Ragnar who works nearthe city of Markarth. Some also allude to it being Ragnar the Red from the popular Nordic song in the game.
Many players make fun of how theDragonborn is only worth 100 gold in the world ofSkyrim, with Zerotopman also thinking that the main character should be worth a lot more. Some users comment on the amount of tax the user had to pay to receive this inheritance, and one fan mentions that taxes inThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimare outrageous.
Skyrim’s courier delivery team appears to be extremely determined and resilient, so it’s no surprise that the Jarl’s court trusted it with the gold. In a recent example, oneSkyrimcourier delivers a letter to the Dragonborn in the middle of a fightagainst Odahviing. The courier gets hit by the dragon’s attacks, but doesn’t flinch and continues his dialogue as if nothing happened.
