ASkyrimplayer online has pointed out a massive missed opportunity with the Winking Skeever inn, located in Solitude. The Winking Skeever is one of themost iconic inns in video games, as are many of the ones featured inSkyrim- Bethesda truly nailed the vibe of each one.

Despite the critical acclaimSkyrimhas received over the years, most players would agree that there are some flaws with the game. Bethesda certainly overlooked a few key details during development, and a lot of them pertain to players being able to exploit the game in different ways. OneSkyrimplayer created a ridiculously overpowered magic ringthrough the use of an exploit, which certainly doesn’t seem to be the system working as intended. It just goes to show that while it’s interesting to see the things thatSkyrimdoes include, it can be just as curious to see the things that have been missed.

Redditor pcampossvk pointed out that the skeever on the sign for the Winking Skeever isn’t actually winking, representing a missed opportunity for the game.Skyrimis usually lauded for its attention to detail, but this particular instance seems to have slipped Bethesda by during the development process. Luckily,Skyrimgets it right where it matters. The Winking Skeever not actually having a winking sign isn’t exactly going to make the game completely unplayable.

One of the most underappreciated elements ofSkyrim’s longevity is how it has kept players talking for all these years. There’s an indistinguishable quality about Bethesda’s RPG that just makes gamers want to discuss it, and because of that, there’s barely an inch of the game that players haven’t discussed to death online. This is perhaps the perfect example - a tiny sign may have simply been an afterthought to the individuals at Bethesda, yet the community still has things to say about it over eleven years later.

Gamers will be hoping thatThe Elder Scrolls 6manages to capitalize on any opportunitiesSkyrimmissed when it finally releases. There remains very little information about the game, but that hasn’t stopped players from speculating what it should include. Some even think thatThe Elder Scrolls 6can’t pull punches withSkyrim’s Civil Warquestline, and the implications of the events ofSkyrimshould certainly be felt throughout the sequel. Hopefully, more solid information begins to filter through to players onceStarfieldfinally releases later this year.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
