ASkyrimplayer has uploaded a brief clip showing an unusual encounter between a dragon and a bed. There are a fewvideo games that feature dragons, but it’s fair to say thatThe Elder Scrolls 5is probably the most famous example. Having said that, these winged beasts are usually known for swooping majestically overhead and threatening to down the Dragonborn. They don’t usually turn their attention to a piece of furniture, but that seems to be what’s happened here.

Thedragon race inSkyrimforms a huge part of the game’s lore. From that first encounter at the start of the game, right up to taking on the mighty Alduin in the afterlife, these flying creatures are not ones to be trifled with. Even out and about on a jolly walk, the Dragonborn can be suddenly attacked by a dragon without a moment’s notice. For newcomers to this cold slice of Tamriel, fighting one can be a rather arduous and dangerous task, necessitating the need to either level up skills beforehand, arm themselves with a ranged weapon for a safer battle, or enlist the aid of NPCs.

What’s not expected is for these majestic antagonists to attack a bed, but that’s what Reddit user yooohaw noticed recently. The uploaded video shows the player using one ofSkyrim’s conjuration spellsto summon a standard bed. This seemingly inanimate object then begins to move about the place while a dragon comes in for the kill. What’s interesting is that, while the bed itself doesn’t fight, it does seem to create a distraction as the dragon attacks that instead of the player. The furniture itself does seem to hone in on the beast but clearly lacks the required limbs and dexterity to take on the foe. In the end, it also seems to survive the battle despite being set on fire.

For those curious, this is likely a mod forSkyrimthat enables players to summon a bed. A previous post on Reddit states that all the item will do is follow the player around and not actually fight anything. This recent clip from yooohaw seems to attempt to show that the bed does fight, although the evidence suggests, and commenters seem to agree, that no actual fighting takes place. Still, it’s an entertaining piece of footage.

It’s things like this that are the reason the 2011 open-world epic is still in the gaming limelight.Bethesda may be working onThe Elder Scrolls 6, but that is likely years away from seeing the light of day. In the meantime,Skyrimfans are only too keen to post the interesting and bizarre moments they encounter while playing.
