For over a decade now,LEGOand video games have shared a close connection. From the release of the originalLego Star Wars: The Video Gameon the sixth console generation onward,LEGOhas produced several video games based on the various properties that LEGO has produced building products for. Now, one individual has gone a step further and build next-gen systems out of LEGOS.
The beauty of LEGOS as a form factor is the ability for people to build whatever they want out of the resources that are given to them. This has allowed members of the gaming community to makf LEGO creations based on video games. This even includes custom minifigures, such as one user creating custom,God of War-themedLEGO figurines in the form of Kratos and Atreus. However, this most recent, gaming-themed LEGO creation is much more extensive.

A Twitter user named BrickinNick has created life-sized versions of both the PS5 and theXbox Series Xout of LEGOs. Both builds include life-sized versions of the controllers to go along with it. BrickinNick then urged other users to go to the LEGO Ideas page designated for both builds and support them. If enough people support both builds, they could potentially become official LEGO sets for people to buy.
It’s amazing how detailed and accurate both of these custom builds are, especially considering how unique the exterior design of thePS5is. The user really managed to bring to life the look and feel of both consoles from a visual standpoint. Not to mention the inclusion of both controllers for each respective console.
In recent years, there have been plenty of new LEGO sets released based on certain aspects of video game culture and iconography. For instance, back in 2020, LEGO released an officialLEGO NESthat featured a controller and CRT television with a level of the originalSuper Mario Bros.being played on it. With any luck, more LEGO sets based on video games will continue to be released.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds forLEGOwith regards to video games. Many fans are still wondering when they can expect to seeLego Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagareleased. While the game has been delayed multiple times, it has been confirmed thatLego Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagawill release at some point in 2022.
