Regardless, Sony acquiring Bungie is a huge deal and a big blow to Microsoft, especially since Bungie is the studio that helped Xbox break into the console market in the first place. Bungie was at one point even owned by Microsoft before gaining its independence and signing alengthy deal with Activision Blizzard forDestiny.

Bungie has been working solo onDestiny 2ever since its relationship with Activision Blizzard was dissolved, though it will now have the backing of Sony and PlayStation behind it.
