Luckily, these abilities can be countered, as one player proved in a recent match.
Taking to Reddit, a user known as AccordingBridge9026 shared a video from their timeplayingOverwatchon the Numbani map. By posting this clip to Reddit, the gamer wished to show that Symmetra’s Sentry Turrets could be used for more than damaging enemies. Specifically, they revealed that the turrets could be used as a barrier against Cassidy’s Deadeye Ultimate.

The video started with AccordingBridge9026 attempting to stop the opposing team from pushing the payload to the third and final point on Numbani. Playing as Symmetra, the Reddit user initially used the character’s Photon Projector to launch projectiles at the objective. However, after a few seconds, they learned they had been flanked by Cassidy, who had activated their Ultimate. Hearing the voice line, “It’s high noon,” they wasted no time placing a Sentry Turret in front of them. Amazingly, this turret ended up blocking the shot from Cassidy, sparing Symmetra in the process.
Unfortunately, an opposing Hanzo seized the opportunity provided by theDeadeye distraction and shot his Ultimate, Dragonstike, at the unaware team, wiping them out. Nevertheless, AccordingBridge9026 had still managed to capture an insane clip. In addition, they had discovered a new potential tactic for deflecting a Cassidy Ultimate if timed correctly inOverwatch.
While many gamers upload clips to theOverwatchsubredditevery day, this particular video from AccordingBridge9026 caught the attention of a large number of fans. In fact, so many users liked the heads-up play that it has already garnered more than 1.4K upvotes in only a couple of days. In addition, some gamers said it would have been even more incredible if the Reddit user’s team had managed to win the fight. Nevertheless, the play was still outstanding, and many wanted to try the tactic out in matches.
