Toward the tail end of 2022, Sony gaveSpider-Manfans a fresh preview ofSpider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, the sequel to 2018’sSpider-Man: Into The Spider-verse.The movie sees the return of Miles Morales, as well asSpider-Manvariants Spider-Gwen and Peter B. Parker.

The trailer also provides a peek into the intersection of Spider-verses, where dozens upon dozens ofSpider-Manvariants congregate. Some of them are well-known by general audiences, while others are nods at more obscure branches of the lore. All that is missing isTheLEGOversion.
7Spider-Man Unlimited
This variant of Spider-Man appeared in the Saturday morning cartoonSpider-Man Unlimited, which firstaired on Fox Kidsin 1999. In this iteration, Spider-Man boards a spaceship heading towards Counter-Earth, to rescue the son of J. Jonah Jameson, John Jameson

When he gets there, he finds that the planet is being ruled by the High Evolutionary, a tyrant who creates animal-human hybrids, and John has joined the rebels who stand against him. The suit is the product of nanotechnology, featuring cloaking capabilities and sonic weaponry, which aid in fighting the symbiotes Venom and Carnage. It even features a webbed cape.
6The Bombastic Bag-Man
This variant stands out for its signature feature: a paper bag replacingSpider-Man’s iconic mask. The color pattern on this suit in the trailer is a nice nod to the visual aesthetic of olderSpider-Mancomics. The Bombastic Bag-Man appears inAmazing Spider-Man#256.
It is the first costume Peter Parker wears after rejecting his black suit from the Secret Wars arc. He discovers that the costume is an alien symbiote, and thanks to theFantastic Four, he manages to remove it. The only problem is that he has nothing to hide his secret identity. Fortunately, there is a spare Fantastic Four costume available, and a paper bag to finish the look.
5Insomniac Spider-Man
At this point, the name ofSpider-Manhas become strongly associated with the PlayStation brand. This is thanks to developer Insomniac Games’ shot at the property on the PlayStation 4, which took everything that madeprevious open-worldSpider-Mangames fun and polished it.

TheSpider-Manin this game would also havehis own costume. It features the classic red and blue color scheme, except with a large white spider on the chest. This costume is created by Otto Octavius, who would become Doctor Octopus, with some extra bells and whistles to help Peter Parker with his job.
4Future Foundation
This costume has a color scheme and design that is almost the inverse of Peter Parker’s symbiote costume. It has a white base color with black going down the sides and under the arms, as well as a large geometric black spider up front, whose arms stretch across the body.
This suit fits the color scheme of those of the Future Foundation, an organization founded by Reed Richards of theFantastic Four, setto appear in the MCU. Spider-Man would join the Foundation as the last dying wish of his friend and Fantastic Four member, Johnny Storm.
3Spider-Armor MKI
The Spider-Armor is a metallic-appearing armor whose color scheme replaces the classic red and black with a bullet-proof material created by Spider-Man. It first appears inWeb of Spider-Man#100 to help combat a trio of criminals called the Enforcers.
The Spider-Armor would later appear in the final story arc of the 90sSpider-Mancartoon, where Spider-Man would have to team up with alternative versions of himself to fight a rogue Spider-Man fused with the Carnage symbiote. This suit variation would be worn by a Spider-Man who is the billionaire head of his own science foundation.
2Spider-Clan
The Spider-Clan costume first emerged in Marvel’s manga-verse, which premiered in 2002. This costume sports shorter sleeves, bandage gloves, and a backpack. This suit is featured as an alternative costume in Insomniac’sSpider-Mangame for PS4, with a cel-shaded art style that fits its manga origins.
The Spider-Clan costume is worn by a Peter Parker who is part ofa clan of ninjascalled the Spider Clan. His sensei, Ben Parker, is murdered by Venom, instead of a burglar that Peter fails to apprehend.
1Iron Spider
This Iron Spider suit is a gift toSpider-Manfrom Tony Stark, first appearing inAmazing Spider-Man#529. It features the same color scheme as theIron Mansuit, including a giant gold spider, gold eye lenses, and three mechanical Spider-Legs.
Peter Parker would wear this suit for part of Marvel’s Civil War story arc in the comics, where he initially sides with Stark. When he discovers that Stark was planning on sending rival heroes to the Negative Zone, however, he changes back to the classic red and blue tights.
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verseis scheduled for a June 2nd, 2023 release.
