Splatoon 3’sClash Blaster weapon is being targeted by fans as the game’s first truly unfair shooter. The latest entry in Nintendo’s acclaimedSplatoonfranchise,Splatoon 3offers plenty of new content to surprise old players and bring in first-time fans. There’s a new story, additional maps, and new weapons including the Splatana, Zipcaster, and other bits of equipment that players can use as part of theirSplatoon 3arsenal.

As well as introducing a lot of new features and weapons,Splatoon 3is also borrowing things from previous entries in the series. A lot of the game’s weapons are borrowed fromSplatoonandSplatoon 2, giving familiar options to those who played the first two games. However, even theweapons fromSplatoon 2have been tweaked forSplatoon 3so that they’re not direct copies, and while this has led to them feeling unique, it has also led to players finding issues with how older blasters are working in the current game’s meta.

Namely, the Clash Blaster has been identified by many players as being one ofSplatoon 3’sstrongest weapons. Originally appearing inSplatoon 2, the Clash Blaster is a primary weapon that is designed similarly to a shotgun in a normal shooter, primarily used for short to mid-range combat. Players canlevel up fairly quickly inSplatoon 3, and the Clash Blaster can be unlocked at level 22, which makes it accessible pretty early. The problem with the weapon lies in the fact that its range reaches far beyond what it is meant to.

This means that the Clash Blaster can kill players even from long range, with its projectiles hitting even when it looks as though they didn’t. This has led to frustrations amongSplatoon 3players, with some leaving messages in the game wishing for the weapon to be removed completely. Unfortunately, it seems that Nintendo may not be focused on balancing theSplatoon 3meta right away, as it is currently preparing for the third game’s post-launch Splatfest, which was revealed during the Nintendo Direct showcase on September 13.

Splatoon 3’sSplatfestwas revealed alongside a whole host of other information at the recent Nintendo Direct, which also showed off the release date and official title for theBreath of the Wildsequel. ForSplatoonfans, it seems the post-launch work on the third game is just beginning, and Nintendo has plenty of other plans to support its third-person shooter franchise in the months and years to come. Considering the sales successSplatoon 3has already experienced, it seems that plenty of players are enjoying their experience as a squid.
