AStar Wars Jedi: Survivorplayer has shown off a bizarre glitch that appears to give a rancor force powers.Star Wars Jedi: Survivordoes feature several force-wielding opponents, but none quite like this.
Rancors are some of the most frustrating enemies inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, with other competitors including the spawn of Oggdo and of course, Rick the Door Technician. They’re not like theStar Wars Jedi: Survivorenemy that gave up mid-battle- rancors are relentless, and won’t stop until Cal is dead. As a Souls-like title,Star Wars Jedi: Survivorthrives when it is challenging the player to be their very best in combat. But as this clip shows, sometimes the odds can be stacked against the player.

Redditor lMisanthropel posted the unfortunate clip, in which they’re attempting to complete the Fractured Malice Force Tear. During this, the player must fight two rancors at once, but this time it comes with an unfair twist. At the end of the footage, the rancor hitsStar Wars Jedi: Survivorprotagonist Cal Kestis, sending him flying into the air. Instead of coming back down though, Cal begins to struggle, as if he’s being affected by some kind of Force power. This continues until he eventually drops dead, forcing the player to restart at the last checkpoint.
There was one gamer who figured out aStar Wars Jedi: Survivortrick to make the rancor fight easier, but even that wouldn’t have helped this player. It’s currently unknown what actually caused this glitch to occur. It’s possible that the rancor had been given actual Force powers by some form of bug, but one user in the thread presented another plausible scenario. It’s possible that the animation being played is the animation for when the rancor has Cal in its mouth, and this is technically the player being eaten by the rancor without looking like they’re in its grasp.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivorhas suffered from many bugs since it was initially released. They all seem to fall under a few different categories. Some are funny, and don’t affect the experience in any negative way. Others, such as this rancor bug, aren’t game-breaking but are certainly frustrating. It’s possible this player lost a decent amount of progress as a result of this death, which would be annoying for anyone. Finally, there has been a decent amount ofStar Wars Jedi: Survivorgame-breaking bugsfound. These are the most frustrating of all - players can be multiple hours into a playthrough only to have it stopped due to something out of their control. Hopefully, Respawn continues to fix the game to iron out problems like this.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivoris available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
