Summary
Whilst theMCU’s latest cinematic outing doesn’t exactly feature a range of the best Marvel Easter Eggs, there is still plenty of things to enjoy. The Marvelshas a few Easter Eggs worth mentioning, whether they are obvious, or ones that can go right over audiences’ heads, they’re definitely worth mentioning. Audiences might be overjoyed to hear of the cameos inThe Marvelsor the subtle hints as to where theMCUmay be heading yet for another cosmic venture.
Whether audiences are expectingreturning characters, brand new ones, or even references that could lead to potential future stories within the MCU,The Marvelsmay take a backseat on the Easter Eggs so it can focus on its characters and their adventures, but that doesn’t mean its void of a few surprises for hardcore fans to enjoy.

8Valkyrie Returns
Played By Tessa Thompson
Valkyrie has been rather busy since the destruction of Asgard and the battle with Thanos’ army. Valkyrie has since taken the role of New Asgard’s King, with far too many responsibilities to bare. However, Valkyrie is a warrior and longs for the thrills of combat. It seems that even more responsibility is bestowed to her inThe Marvels, as shemakes a quick appearanceto take some Skrull refugees to New Asgard.
It’s a welcoming surprise to see Valkyrie in the MCU again, and this would mark the fourth appearance of the character. Whilst Loki may have found his glorious purpose, it seems that Valkyrie has found hers, with a friendship to Captain Marvel, and as King of a welcoming kingdom that accepts galactic refugees.

7The Annihilators Name Drop
Comic Book Team Created In 2011
The galaxy far and wide knows Captain Marvel, but some alien races will know her as less than heroic, especially the Kree Empire, andDar-Benn in particular. Dar-Benn calls Captain Marvel “The Annihilator”, and whilst Captain Marvel might not like this newly dubbed name, audiences familiar with Marvel Comics might.
Hopefully one day audiences will actually see The Annihilators, which is a team consisting of some great powerhouses from the cosmic franchise, like Beta Ray Bill, Silver Surfer, Ikon, and Gladiator. The team is bound to change up if they ever reach the MCU, but here’s hoping Beta Ray Bill is on his way.

6Ms. Marvel’s Quantum Bands
Kree Connection
Dar-Benn’s powers come from the newly revealed Quantum Bands, which are very much related to Ms. Marvel’s bangles. The fact that these cosmic powerful items are revealed as Quantum Bands might mean something to Marvel Comic fans, who might remember that the Quantum Bands have a deep connection to the comics from decades ago as instruments of power, and wielded by The Protectors.
The Quantum Bands draw their energy from the mysterious Quantum Zone, which is more than likely the MCU’s Quantum Realm. It just shows further connection between the MCU and Marvel Comics, and perhaps there is even more than meets the microscope with the Quantum Realm than initially thought.

5Beast’s MCU X-Men Debut
Played By Kelsey Grammar
In The Marvel’s post-credits scene, not only are audiences given a conclusion to the fate of Monica Rambaeu but they are given their first look at the Mutants and the X-Men, which seem to exist in a universe parallel to the MCU’s main universe. The Multiverse has played a large part in the later MCU Phases, so it’s no surprise to see more issues arise within alternate realities, but it is still a surprise to see the familiar chrome X-Men door, and even more of a surprise to see Hank McCoy in thisMCU sequel.
Hank McCoy is mainly noted for his blue fur, and being known as the prominent X-Men member, Beast. With Monica now trapped with these allies, hopefully, she can find her way home with some help. Beast’s MCU debut marks the first X-Men character to arrive in an MCU film, even beforeDeadpool 3brings back Wolverine.

Played By Hailey Stienfield
The final scene inThe MarvelshasMs. Marvel set on a missionto recruit a new team of superheroes under the Young Avengers initiative. This scene itself is an easter egg to 2008’sIron Man, the movie that started the entire MCU. In the post-credits scene ofIron Man, Tony Stark walks into his living room to find Nick Fury sitting in the dark, here totalk to him about the Avengers Initiative. Now, under 20 years later, the scene is given a revamp with new characters and motives.
In this scene, Ms. Marvel tries to recruit Kate Bishop, who audiences last saw in Disney Plus’ Hawkeye series. It’s a nice teaser for the future of the MCU, and how the franchise is still exploring new characters after losing some of its heaviest hitters.

3The Supreme Intelligence
A Big Green Head
In a flashback, Captain Marvel is seen destroying the Supreme Intelligence. Whilst this character appeared in some capacity in the originalCaptain Marvelmovie,The Marvelsshow a more comic-accurate version of the character, as this big green head appears, clear as day, and impossible to miss. It’s always great to see Marvel embrace the weirder side of their designs and history.
Whilst The Supreme Intelligence does not play a major role inThe Marvels, it’s fun to see such an obscure character, albeit briefly. Even better, the scene shows Captain Marvel’s original helmet, complete with the flaming mohawk.

2Liberty Avenger
The Captain America Statue Of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty has been remodeled in the MCU, and for years, it has been slowly converted into the Liberty Avenger, in memory of Steve Rogers’ time as Captain America. The statue has been given its copper color, as well as a copper version of Captain America’s shield, held up high to all who can see this iconic statue on Liberty Island.
Fans saw this statue as early asSpider-Man: No Way Homeas part of the climactic battle of Multiversal Spider-Man friends and foes, and they would later see it complete inMs. Marvel. Whilst only in the background ofThe Marvels, it’s nice to see the background world-building.

1Maria Rambeau As Binary
Played by Lashana Lynch
Maria Rambeau was Captain Marvel’s best friend and has held quite the life in not only the mainline MCU universe but other universes. Whilst in the MCU, Maria went on to become the Director of S.W.O.R.D. and died of cancer in 2020. Maria may not have had superpowers, but she had a great mind and loyalty to her world, morals, and especially her family. This character was then seen again inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, although she may have met a grizzly end.
Luckily for fans of Maria, she is seen again, once more with Captain Marvel’s powers. This marks the third Maria Rambaeu fans have seen in the MCU and the second one with superpowers. She is called Binary by Beast, which is an interesting title, considering it holds some long-standing history with Captain Marvel.
