Summary

In the roguelike genre, where death takes players all the way back to the start of their adventure, weapons have become an incredibly important feature. The Rogue Prince of Persiaplayers need to find a weapon that best suits their playstyle, and best suits their array of upgrades, as without that synergy players aren’t likely to make it too far. Thankfully,The Rogue Prince of Persiaalready has a varied arsenal, containing both weapons and tools.

Having just entered Steam early access about a week ago,The Rogue Prince of Persiais expected to grow quite a bit over the next year or so, with developer Evil Empire stating that the game should have twice as much content in its final release. That being said,The Rogue Prince of Persiais already home to eight unique weapons, and six distinct tools, all of which can be found at random during any given run.

The Rogue Prince of Persia Early Access Weapon and Tool Tier List

S-Tier Weapons and Tools in Rogue Prince of Persia

In its current early access build, the best weapons inThe Rogue Prince of Persiaare those that have a fast moveset, which is why the Royal Sword and Double Daggers are at the very top of the meta. The game’s starting weapons, the Double Daggers, allow players to unleash a fast multi-hit combo while still offering plenty of room in its attack animations for any dodges the player might need to perform. The Royal Sword is almost as fast as the twin daggers, and dishes out just a little more damage, arguably making it the most balanced and effective weapon in the entire game.

When it comes to tools, just one deserves a spot at the top, and that’s the Composite Bow. As straightforward as it gets,The Rogue Prince of Persia’s Composite Bow fires a single arrow in a straight line in front of the Prince, which deals a high amount of damage. It’s simple but very effective.

A-Tier Weapons and Tools in Rogue Prince of Persia

Next up are the weapons that have some beneficial quirks, but sacrifice speed for the sake of them. The Broadsword is one of the hardest-hitting weapons inThe Rogue Prince of Persia, but its attack wind-up and animations are much slower than the rest of the weapons in the game. That said, the Broadsword does have a special charged attack that launches enemies into the air.The Whirling Spearis another good weapon, offering high damage and allowing the player to keep their enemies at a safer distance.

The Falcata is essentially a faster version of the Royal Sword, but its lower damage does put it slightly behind, though its special trait rewards players for successive attacks by increasing the damage dealt. The only tool in this tier is the Chakram, a ranged attack that has more charges than the Composite Bow but doesn’t deal nearly as much damage.

B-Tier Weapons and Tools in Rogue Prince of Persia

The threeRogue Prince of Persiaweapons in the B-Tier are the Tabar, the Spear, and the Bagh Nakh claws. While all these weapons are solid options, there are simply better versions of them all. The Tabar is a heavy-hitting axe that’s outdone by the Broadsword, the Spear’s moveset is a little more limited than the Whirling Spear, and the Bagh Nakh claws are fast and look stylish, but they aren’t as powerful or balanced as the Double Daggers or Royal Sword. The tool in this tier isBerude’s Gauntlet, which delivers a powerful AoE attack that takes a little too long to deliver and has too few charges.

C-Tier Weapons and Tools in Rogue Prince of Persia

In this currentearly access build ofThe Rogue Prince of Persia, there are no weapons that could be considered C-Tier, but there are a handful of tools that belong at the lower end of the spectrum. The Stealth Spirit allows players to dash behind enemies, which is only truly effective with the right Medallion upgrades. The Grappling Hook is good at separating enemies from a pack, but that’s not nearly as useful in the game’s later stages. And lastly, the Saw Blade is essentially just a more powerful Chakram, but its return journey can damage the player, which makes it redundant in such a fast-paced game.
