With its many weapons customization options,Call of Duty: Modern Warfaregives players plenty of ways tocreate overpowered loadoutsfor crushing the competition, but sometimes said loadouts become too problematic to keep in the game as they are. That’s why Infinity Ward has confirmed that it will be making changes to one of the more recent, and controversial, OP loadouts, the Akimbo .357 Snake Shots.

TheAkimbo perkthat lets players wield dual pistols has been in the game since Season 2, but it wasn’t until recently that theModern Warfarecommunity really became aware of what happens when it’s paired with the .357 Magnum. This opens the door for the perk to be combined with the .357’s Snake Shot attachment, which effectively turns the pistol into a shotgun, giving them the ability to wield two of these at once.

The result is a loadout that is unquestionably OP, as players have shown that, at short and medium range, the Akimbo .357 Snake Shots can easily down opponents with just a single pair of burst shots from each pistol. Not only that, with the recently discoveredglitch that gives Akimbo weapons infinite ammo, it can transcend being OP and become straight-up broken.

But it shouldn’t be for much longer, because Infinity Ward’s Joe Cecot confirmed on Twitter that the studio is “working on an adjustment” for the Akimbo .357 Snake Shots. He said this will come in a smaller update and just needs to be tested before then, and also stated thatModern Warfare’s next big updatewill see RPGs get a “tuning pass” later on.

It remains to be seen when exactly the Akimbo Snake Shot fix will be added toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare(or how exactly it will nerf it), but given that it rarely goes a few weeks without a new update, it’s likely that it won’t be long until it arrives. Definitely good news for players who are tired of trying to counter dual-shotgun players in close-quarter fights.

While those who like using overpowered guns may disagree, they can look on the bright side. With all of the new weapons being added toModern Warfareeach season, someone’s bound todiscover a new OP loadoutbefore long.
