Since its release last year,Valheimhas only added to its sandbox with updates aimed at increasing the number of building options. With the game’s building mechanics, players have spent this time showing off their skills through dedications to other franchises and with unique structure designs. In the latest display of a player getting the most out ofValheim, one player created an impressive spiral lighthouse.
Valheimtakes its players to a mythical Viking worldpopulated by aggressive creatures and animals. As a survival sandbox game, players are able to manipulate the world around them and create bases where they can safely stockpile supplies, farm, craft, and sleep.

This creation comes from u/BleachedAndSalty, and it rests on the hill within their base. In the four photos that they share, the first thing players should notice is how well-organized the base is. Aside from that, the area shown in the photos leads up a hill and to the stone platform on which the large spiral lighthouse rests. The structure itself begins with six stacked layers of stone walls laid out in a circle. Surrounding this base are numerous rows of core wood beams that are angled to circle the structure as well. They rise all the way up to form the second part of the lighthouse, giving off the spiral appearance. At the very top is a platform with a fire that will help guide u/BleachedAndSalty on their journey back fromthe dangerous oceans ofValheim.
This build is really pushing the vanilla game’s limits when it comes to structure height.Valheimrequires all builds to be structurally sound, and this player had to use every advantage in the game to make sure this build became a reality. This includes heavily relying on wood iron, one of the strongest supports in the game. Though they don’t show the interior, viewers can be sure there is a complex support system inside.
Adding inlimitations toValheim’s building mechanicensures that it remains a challenge. At its core, this game requires players to earn their advancement. This is true when it comes to having to harvest new ore for each biome, not being able to transport said ore through portals, and having to pick up items where a player last died. The challenge is part of the game’s fun.
Of course, this feature won’t sit well with all players, especially those who have imagined a particularly impressive build but one that structural stability won’t allow. Either way, this player flexed their talents at building in the vanilla version ofValheimwith this creation.
