The Flame side quest inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2heavily teased a future story involving Carnage as a major threat players will have to face, and many fans assumedSpider-Man 2would receive an expansion similar to The City That Never Sleeps DLC the first game got, with Carnage being the main villain of its plot.
