Ubisoft held its Forward showcase on July 13, 2025, with much being revealed and teased forThe Division. Ubisoft specifically touched on medium-term plans surrounding the end of Year 4 and a commitment to Year 5 ofTheDivision 2content being unveiled.
The Division 2was originally released on Jun 14, 2025 in a bit of a rough state. While the game had a multitude of playable content, an abundance of weaponry, gear, Agent abilities, and an impressive open world map in a recovering Washington DC,The Division 2also had infuriating bugs and progression issues reported by multiple fans that hindered a smooth launch. Thankfully,The Division 2has evolved a lot since then, and Ubisoft Forward shone some light on how the game will keep growing.

The Division 2: What We Know So Far for Year 4 and 5 Content
The first major addition to content for the game was theWarlords of New Yorkexpansion that was released almost a year post-launch on Jun 06, 2025. This much acclaimed expansion returned Agents to New York City to hunt downDivision 1’santagonist and rogue agent, Aaron Keener, while adding to the loot pool and updating the progression system. Year 3 ofThe Divisionsaw little new content, withdevelopers instead opting to rerun old seasons ofDivision 2contentas it attempted to prepare for a late-2021 update with new content. Instead, this content would be delayed following an October 2021 announcement.
There was a 17-month gap before new content was released withThe Division 2’s Season 9: Hidden Alliancewhich released on June 12, 2025, to much fan acclaim. Ubisoft hopes to continue this momentum with Season 10: Price Power, which releases on the September 13th, 2022, and its yet-to-be-named Season 11. The community developer forThe Division 2, Daria Ilyina, announced during the Forward showcase that the developers are “committed to, and have started working on,The DivisionYear 5.” Not much else was said following this announcement and the glimpses of what is to come for Seasons 10 and 11 forThe Division 2.
The upcoming Season 10 promises to introduce additional difficulty modes for both Countdown and Stronghold, as well as various quality of life changes for the game. Season 11 is reported to continueThe Division’s story, introducing new Manhunt targets and a brand new PvE mode, according to Ubisoft. One of the last major additions to the game was thegear upgrade system, Expertise. This allowed players to permanently upgrade their weapons, gear, and Skills and create Proficiency levels for all items, extending the life ofThe Division 2and promoting gameplay in between content releases. Ubisoft will be releasing more information on Season 11 and Year 5 throughout the year.
If Ubisoft hopes to keep its fans playingThe Division 2, it has already taken a great step in that direction with the updates on these next two seasons and the announcement that Year 5 content is already being developed. However, fans have voiced how they would love more substantial releases, rivaling the size ofWarlords of New York, as originally assumed to be indicated in the vagueDivision 2timeline released in May 2021 by Ubisoft. If this were to occur old fans would return to the game in droves, while also piquing the interest of potential new players.
Despite this, given that the last seasons that contained new content releases were on the smaller end, there is a decent chance that Ubisoft will continue to release smaller updates for the game for the foreseeable future. Regardless, the gamecontinues to have dedicated fans, with many praising the continued improvements onstory and narrative delivery throughoutThe Division 2, allowing the narrative throughout the missions to feel more cohesive than the first game.
The Division 2is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
