Making one’s way intoWorld of Warcraft’s Emerald Dream isn’t exactly a walk in the park, especially if one wants to bring their physical form with them. To launch a full-scale invasion into this verdant spiritual plane, Fyrakk needed something to turn the tides in his favor, something beyond even his ability to achieve.

Fyrakk’s New Legendary Weapon Helps Him Enter World of Warcraft’s Emerald Dream
Cue theDruids of the Flame, Fyrakk’s eager new allieswho have spurned their former Druidic ways. No longer upholding the balance of nature, these spurned night elves have pledged themselves to chaos and destruction. This new purpose suits the Flame Incarnate just fine, as burning the world to ash is a promise he intends to fulfill.
Thispartnership between Fyrakk and the Druids of the Flameis more than mere convenience. Without their knowledge and power, the Flame Incarnate would never have been able to enter the Emerald Dream and claim his ultimate prize, the vulnerable sapling World Tree, Amirdrassil.
If Fyrakk absorbs the latent power within this sapling, he will become unstoppable. Amirdrassil is no ordinary World Tree either. It was born from a single tear of Elune herself,forged by the Winter Queen of Ardenwealdand imbued with the spirits of those countless night elves that perished in the flames of Teldrassil. It represents the hope of all life on Azeroth, and that hope is one Fyrakk wants to crush.
To break into the Dream, Fyrakk commissioned the Druids of the Flame to forge a new weapon.
The existing portals to theEmerald Dream were well protected by the Green Dragonflight, so the Flame Incarnate needed a more direct method. This two-handed ax is imbued with Druidic magic and is capable of slicing open a portal into the Dream.
Its name is Fyr’alath, and it’s suspected that players will be able to get their hands on it after fighting theIncarnate inWoW’s Amirdrassil raid. However, this presents a bit of a problem. To use the ax, Fyrakk has to be in his bipedal visage form. In his true form, he is a massive proto-drake with admittedly humorous tiny arms, which makes this weapon kind of useless to him.
Obviously, Fyr’alath has served a great purpose in opening the way to the Emerald Dream, but it also means he’s going to fight players in his visage form, which is not as powerful. Normally,dragons or proto-dragons inWorld of Warcraftassume their humanoid forms merely as a convenient way to interact with mortals, but when it comes time to throw down, they always make use of their true draconic bodies.
It’s not necessarily a deal-breaker to have to fight Fyrakk in his visage form sinceRaszageth the Storm Incarnatealready gave players a boss fight with a massive proto-drake. The nature of going up against a bipedal Fyrakk would open the way to several unique fight mechanics, but it is still a little strange to have to face the mighty Flame Incarnate in his weaker state. It’s just as likely that he’ll be in his draconic form and not even have the ax for most of the fight.
Despite the oddrelationship Fyrakk has with his ax Fyr’alath, players can be sure it’ll be a force to reckon with. Whether it empowers the Incarnate enough to make up for its obvious pitfalls is yet to be seen. Still, given the molten antagonist’s incredible design, it will be fun to beat him in whichever form he chooses.
